Fixed appliances- removable retainers – Thermoforming – Pedodontics – Casts ( US size)
Fixed appliances : They’re composed of various elements: brackets which are little pieces of metal or ceramic stuck on the teeth. We also use braces surrounding the teeth and finally arches which are metal threads linking the brackets. These appliances help the teeth move back or forth.
Removable retainers :
They are an orthopedic device which centers the child’s bone growth. This device also provides the patient an harmonious profile. Functional appliances use movements and forces that are brought about when natural functions are performed. Principles: to help, guide and stimulate the movements used when muscles work. Aims: to rebalance teeth and their occlusions. In the same time, these appliances help perform a perfect swallowing, chewing, phonation, and nose breathing.
The appliances are made of resin, retainer clasps, and other elements which aim at giving teeth forces.
Thermoforminge :
This device has really been developping for the past years.
Medical removable plastic devices for teeth overlay are more and more used.
All materials are harmless and their biocompatibility have been certified.
They are Class 1 medical products ( 93/42/EWG) and follow the EC certification.
This device has many advantages: it permits the realisation of orthodontic appliances (to correct teeth misplacement), of retainer appliances (to keep teeth in their best position). It is also used for the patients’ comfort ( teeth whitening, fluoration and protection).

The tooth decays and their prevention
Casts :
They can be lacklustre or shining. They are made of strong plaster and carefully performed. Thus, the patient can be presented a clear and clean cast of his mouth.
